Mr. Makhtar Diop - Vice President of the World Bank (WB) in charge of infrastructure appreciated the energy development in Vietnam in the past years. He affirmed that WB is ready to support Vietnam in solving difficulties and challenges in the coming time, including the development of power grids, especially power grids connecting solar power systems to the national electricity system.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked WB for continuously supporting Vietnam, especially in infrastructure, energy, mining, transport, financial infrastructure and digital development.
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam has a huge demand in development investment, so he wished WB to continue supporting Vietnam to develop essential fields such as clean energy (solar power, wind power), infrastructure, mobilizing capital to help develop Vietnam's electric energy; support to promote and complete the institutions for public-private partnership (PPP) investment, etc.
The development of Vietnam's infrastructure is very urgent, while the mobilization of investment capital has not met the demand yet. Hence, it is recommended that the World Bank support Vietnam in this field and continue the close cooperation, technical assistance, as well as supporting more resources for Vietnam in the national development process.
