Chairman of EVN Board of Directors Dang Hoang An receives delegation from Dongfang Electric Corporation

On April 21st, in Hanoi, Mr. Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), hosted and held working-level talks with a high-ranking delegation from Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC), led by Mr. Zhang Shaofeng, a Member of DEC’s Board of Directors.
During the meeting, Mr. Zhang Shaofeng emphasized that Vietnam remains one of DEC’s strategic markets in the Asia–Pacific region. The DEC leadership also shared recent advancements in technology research and development, as well as improvements in the manufacturing capacity of industrial equipment, including high-capacity wind turbine units and modern gas power equipment. At the same time, DEC expressed its desire to enhance cooperation with EVN across multiple areas, particularly as Vietnam advances its national energy transition strategy.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN, highly appreciated the outcomes of the cooperation between the two sides in recent years and recognized DEC’s role in implementing several key power projects in Vietnam.
Both sides agreed to continue regular exchanges, promote the sharing of technical expertise, and jointly explore new avenues of collaboration to contribute to Vietnam’s objectives of energy security and sustainable development in the coming years.
Dongfang Electric Corporation is a major Chinese enterprise headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. With a total installed equipment capacity exceeding 89,000MW, DEC operates in many countries as an EPC contractor, a leading electrical equipment manufacturer, and a trusted technical consultancy provider.
In Vietnam, DEC has been involved in several major projects, including thermal power plants such as Hai Phong I, Hai Phong II, Duyen Hai I, and Duyen Hai III, as well as hydropower projects like Ban Ve, Ban Chat, and Dong Nai III.
