During the meeting, representatives of the Russian business delegation expressed their interest in cooperating with EVN and its member companies in the manufacture of large-capacity power transformers, shunt reactors, and other equipment for the power system. They also expressed their readiness to share experience, facilitate appropriate technology transfer, and connect experts from both sides for more in-depth exchanges on smart grids, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission technology, smart metering, and cybersecurity in the power sector.

For his part, EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan provided an overview of the scale and development orientation of Vietnam's power system amid rapidly growing electricity demand and increasing investment requirements for both power generation and grid infrastructure. He noted that the growing integration of renewable energy sources also requires enhanced capabilities in power system management and operation.

The EVN President and CEO noted that EVN is particularly interested in solutions that can help strengthen Vietnam's domestic power equipment manufacturing capabilities, especially for large-capacity transformers, as well as technologies that can contribute to the safe, flexible, and efficient operation of the power grid.

EVN also expressed its interest in learning more about Russia's experience in smart grid development and deployment, with a view to identifying solutions suited to the technical conditions, standards, and practical requirements of Vietnam's power system.

The two sides agreed to maintain regular information exchanges and connect their respective technical units and experts to further explore potential areas of cooperation.
