Construction of Sam Son 220kV substation and Thanh Hoa - Sam Son 220kV connection line

On the morning of December 25, in Thanh Hoa province, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) organized the construction of the Sam Son 220kV substation and the Thanh Hoa - Sam Son 220kV connection line. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
The Sam Son 220kV Substation Project and the 220kV Thanh Hoa - Sam Son connection line were approved by the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in principle and the investor in Decision No. 2230/QD-UBND dated May 31, 2024. This is a level I, group B energy project invested by EVNNPT, managed and operated by CPMB, and taken over by Power Transmission Company No. 1 after the project is completed.
Sam Son 220kV substation is built in Quang Hung commune, Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province. Capacity scale of 2x250MVA including 4 220kV bays and 10 110kV bays.
The Thanh Hoa - Sam Son 220kV connection line passes through the districts of Thieu Hoa, Dong Son, Nong Cong, Quang Xuong and Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province. The scale of the new construction including the 2-circuit connection line from the Thanh Hoa 500kV substation to the Sam Son 220kV substation is about 40.1 km long; for the G11 - G12 section, about 1.33 km long, a 4-circuit pole is used, including 2 220kV circuits and 2 110kV circuits running together.

The project, after completion, will help increase power supply for a load of Thanh Hoa province, especially the Eastern region and Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province; improve system reliability and meet the needs of socio-economic development for Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province as well as neighboring areas.
