The Siemens Energy delegation was led by Mr. KP Kumar, Regional Sales Director for Asia.

Mr. KP Kumar – Regional Sales Director for Asia, Siemens Energy (center), shares insights on new-generation gas turbine technology and global trends in LNG power development.
The meeting focused on sharing global technology trends, updating the gas power equipment market, and clarifying the need for gas power development in the coming period.
In Vietnam, EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh emphasized the need to develop flexible power sources in accordance with the adjusted Power Development Plan VIII. Under the energy transition direction, halting the development of new coal-fired power projects after 2030 increases the role of gas power, especially LNG, in ensuring balance and improving the flexibility of the national power generation mix.

At the meeting, Siemens Energy representatives presented high-efficiency new-generation gas turbine technology, global LNG power trends, and experiences from implementing LNG power projects in various countries.
The two sides also discussed the global power equipment market outlook. According to Siemens Energy, demand for gas turbine units is rapidly increasing, especially in regions with high energy needs driven by data centers. This trend places significant pressure on supply chains and equipment delivery timelines, factors that need to be continuously monitored during investment preparation.
Siemens Energy expressed its desire to continue technical cooperation, share technology trends, and support EVN in evaluating feasible solutions for gas power development.
EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh acknowledged the information from Siemens Energy and requested that both sides continue to update technology trends, operational experience, and suitable development models for gas power plants under Vietnam’s conditions.
