Establishing an LNG supply chain for key gas-fired power projects

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that the implementation of LNG power projects, including the Quang Trach II and III power plants, is a concrete step in realizing the revised Power Development Plan VIII, contributing to supplementing an important base power source for the national power system, especially in the northern region.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the proactive and positive efforts of Ha Tinh province in coordinating the project's implementation, as well as the decisive involvement of major energy corporations such as EVN, Petrovietnam, and PV GAS in the synchronous development of both LNG storage infrastructure and power plants.

Speaking at the event, President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan said that for more than twenty years, the cooperative relationship between EVN and Petrovietnam - PV GAS has played an important role in ensuring national energy security, especially in supplying gas to power plants. In the context of declining domestic gas resources, the proactive deployment of regasification LNG by both parties is an important solution to ensure fuel supply for power generation.
