EVN donates VND 3 billion to support recovery efforts after Typhoon No. 13 in Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak

Typhoon No. 13 made landfall in the South Central and Central Highlands regions, causing severe losses in both lives and property. Among the hardest-hit provinces are Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Quang Ngai. Vietnam Electricity (EVN) promptly provided VND 1 billion in relief aid to each of these provinces to help overcome the aftermath of the disaster.
On the morning of November 10, authorized by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Mr. Nguyen Huu Khanh – Deputy General Director of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) – presented VND 1 billion in support to the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province to help the localities at the storm’s center recover from the serious consequences of Typhoon No. 13 (Kalmaegi). The delegation was received by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh – Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province.

At the donation ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Khanh stated that EVNCPC had mobilized more than 2,300 personnel, along with materials and equipment, to restore the power grids in Gia Lai and Dak Lak after the storm. As of the morning of November 10, nearly 1.4 million customers—accounting for 84.4% of those affected—had their electricity supply restored. In Gia Lai alone, Gia Lai Power Company had reconnected power for 80% of its customers in the province.

On the same morning, the leaders of Quang Ngai Power Company and Dak Lak Power Company also delivered EVN’s VND 1 billion support to each province to assist in post-storm recovery efforts.

At present, EVNCPC units and emergency response teams continue working day and night to restore power for more than 258,000 customers who remain without electricity in Gia Lai and Dak Lak.
Earlier, on October 31, EVN also provided VND 2 billion in support to the cities of Da Nang and Hue (VND 1 billion each) to help localities recover from the severe floods in Central Vietnam, which caused significant human and property losses.
