Commercial electricity sales increase by 10.25%, with many positive results

In the first six months of 2026, EVNCPC ensured a safe, continuous, and stable power supply, meeting the demands of socio-economic development, national defense and security, and people's daily lives across the Central and Central Highlands regions amid rising electricity demand caused by prolonged hot weather.

Commercial electricity sales across the Corporation reached 14,450 million kWh, up 10.25% compared to the same period last year and fulfilling 50.34% of the annual plan. Peak load reached 4,956MW, an increase of 19.3% over the same period of 2025 and 10.1% higher than the highest peak load recorded in the whole of 2025.

The power loss rate was maintained at 3.34%, 0.31 percentage points lower than the target assigned by EVN.

The business and customer service area also recorded many positive results. The average time required to process new electricity connection procedures was 1.76 days per project, exceeding the planned target. The rates of full digitalization of the electricity service process, customers using electricity services through digital platforms, non-cash electricity bill payments, and electricity bill collection all reached 100%.

In implementing demand-side management programs, EVNCPC worked with 1,164 customers participating in the load shifting program, achieving a 100% agreement signing rate, with a load-shifting potential of nearly 91MW. Under the voluntary demand response program, 1,925 customers signed participation agreements, with a demand reduction potential of more than 255MW, helping ease pressure on the power system during periods of high electricity demand.

Investment and construction activities continued to be accelerated, with 125 projects completed in the first six months of the year and disbursements exceeding VND 2.234 trillion. EVNCPC also commenced construction on seven projects and energized seven 110kV grid projects as planned. These completed projects have contributed to enhancing power supply capacity and meeting the socio-economic development needs of localities.

Alongside its production and business activities, EVNCPC allocated more than VND 8.3 billion to social welfare programs across the Central and Central Highlands provinces and cities, while continuing to ensure employment, income, and the well-being of its employees.

Determined to successfully fulfill annual plan

In his remarks at the conference, EVNCPC Chairman Nguyen Thanh stated that the Corporation had basically fulfilled its production and business targets, while its operational efficiency continued to improve. Commercial electricity sales grew by more than 10%, exceeding the medium-growth scenario and approaching the high-growth scenario. Occupational safety, financial safety, and information security have been well maintained.

Regarding the tasks for the remaining six months of the year, the Chairman requested all units to focus on effectively implementing five key groups of tasks. First, they must proactively ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system amid the ongoing peak hot season and the approaching rainy and storm season, while closely following local power development plans to promptly propose investment solutions and ensure reliable electricity supply.

All units were also instructed to make every effort to achieve the highest possible completion of the annual targets, accelerate the implementation of investment projects, minimize project delays, reduce inventory levels of materials and equipment, and improve the efficiency of capital utilization.

In his concluding remarks, EVNCPC General Director Ngo Tan Cu acknowledged and commended the efforts of all units during the first six months of the year in ensuring a safe and continuous power supply, meeting the needs of socio-economic development and people's daily lives despite extreme weather conditions and continuously rising peak demand. The Corporation also successfully achieved many planned targets, maintained occupational safety, traffic safety and information security, and recorded positive results in auditing and corporate governance.

Regarding the tasks for the remaining six months of the year, the EVNCPC General Director requested all units to proactively develop plans to ensure the safe operation of the power system during the rainy and storm season; improve power supply reliability; and reduce grid faults, particularly medium-voltage grid faults that directly affect customers.

The EVNCPC General Director also requested the units to accelerate investment and construction progress; improve the quality of project surveys, designs and acceptance; proactively resolve capital-related difficulties; strive to complete key projects on schedule; and promptly recruit additional technical workers to meet operational and maintenance requirements under the new circumstances.

The units were also instructed to strictly implement the new regulations on self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power; proactively review and complete legal documentation; comply with regulations on investment and construction, bidding, procurement and financial management; and continue to fully address outstanding issues identified through audits and inspections.
