Commencing 2 important projects

Regarding political tasks, EVN’s Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh requested EVNPMB3 to commence the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project and commence the main project – stage 2 (phase 1) of Bac Ai pumped storage hydropower plant in the first quarter of 2025, and at the same time complete the project of supplying power from the national grid to Con Dao district (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) in 2025.

EVNPMB3 also needs to promote digital transformation and apply science and technology in project management; complete targets and tasks to improve efficiency and increase labor productivity.

In carrying out its political tasks, EVNPMB3 implements the task of managing construction investment according to the objectives assigned by the Group and internal management tasks under the direction of EVN. Typically, with the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project, the Board has coordinated with consultants to complete the contents according to the appraisal opinions and EVN has submitted them to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for appraisal. Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has also approved the conversion of forest use to other purposes to implement the project (23.92 hectares of production forest). The compensation, support, and resettlement work of the project has also completed the work of counting and confirming the origin of land in the project area.

With the Bac Ai pumped storage hydropower project, the design consultant is completing the technical documents for phase 2 (the cluster of the above reservoir works) to report to EVN in the first quarter of 2025. The conversion of forest land use purposes and the conversion of forest use purposes have been approved by the Prime Minister and the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee. EVNPMB3 has paid for replacement forest planting with a value of VND 28.95 billion. The Board also plans to implement the main construction package from February 2025.

With the project of supplying power from the national grid to Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, 7 construction packages have been deployed since November 2024. The EPC package for submarine cables has signed a contract with the contractor on December 12, 2024, and is implementing the work complying with the contract. For the compensation and site clearance,  the competent authorities are reviewing to issue the land prices as a basis for pricing, developing a compensation plan, and supporting resettlement for appraisal and approval of the plan.
