In the first quarter of the year, EVNSPC energized 29 projects, striving toward the goal of completing 50 projects by April 30, 2025, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and the reunification of the country, as well as the 50th founding anniversary of EVNSPC (30/4/1975 – 30/4/2025).
High determination, maximum effort.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has implemented weekly plans to monitor, inspect, and expedite the progress of construction investment activities, with a particular focus on the commencement and energization of 110kV grid projects.
As a result, in the first three months of the year, numerous projects across the provinces of Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, and others have been continuously energized and successfully put into operation on schedule.

Ensuring adequate capacity for growing power demand
EVNSPC has swiftly invested in and commissioned multiple projects to improve the reliability of electricity supply and accommodate growing demand in areas like Vinh Long, Binh Phuoc, and Dong Thap.
A notable example is the Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park 110kV substation and its associated branch line in Binh Phuoc province, with a total investment of nearly VND 112 billion. Construction began in December 2024, and after just over three months, the project was successfully energized late at night on March 30, 2025. This project meets the power demand of Dong Phu district and surrounding areas, particularly the growing needs of Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park.

EVNSPC staff exemplify unwavering spirit of “making the most of every day and night” to accelerate progress on construction sites.
Also in March, EVNSPC energized and commissioned two 110kV power grid projects in Vinh Long province. Notably, Phase 1 of the capacity expansion project for the Binh Minh 110kV substation (located in Binh Minh town) was completed in just under 15 days of construction. This project addresses the increasing power demand of various industrial zones and clusters, as well as the growing load demand in the surrounding area. In addition, the capacity upgrade of transformers T1 and T2 at the Phuoc Hoa 110kV substation, with a total investment of over VND 42 billion, has further contributed to meeting the rising power demand in Long Ho district and the Hoa Phu industrial zone.
In Dong Thap province, EVNSPC completed the upgrade and renovation of the Hong Ngu 110kV substation, ensuring power supply to meet the growing demand in Hong Ngu City, Hong Ngu district, Tan Hong district, and Prey Veng province in Cambodia.
In addition, several other projects were also completed on schedule, including the replacement of transformer T1 at the Cho Moi 110kV substation (An Giang province); the upgrade and capacity expansion of the Suoi Dop substation (Tay Ninh province); the conductor phase-splitting of the Vinh Long 2 – Sa Dec 110kV transmission line (Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces); the upgrade to increase the transmission capacity of the Bao Loc – Di Linh 110kV line (Lam Dong province); and the capacity expansion of transformer T1 from 25MVA to 40MVA at the Dam Doi 110kV substation (Ca Mau province).
The successful energization of these projects was not only the result of the efforts made by EVNSPC and its management, construction, consulting, and testing units, but also thanks to the close coordination and active support from the Southern Power System Dispatch Center, local authorities at all levels, and residents in the areas where the projects were implemented. Once in operation, these projects have significantly contributed to ensuring a reliable power supply for both residents and businesses.
