Efforts to bring electricity to Khau Hom

03:54, 28/02/2025

Khau Hom Village (Nam So Commune) consists of 53 households and is home to two ethnic groups, the Mong and Dao people. This is the last village in Tan Uyen District (Lai Chau Province) that has yet to be connected to the national power grid, therefore, accessing electricity is a long-standing dream for the villagers. To fulfill this aspiration, Lai Chau Power Company (Lai Chau PC) has proactively taken steps to implement the project of bringing electricity to the village.

Khau Hom is the last village among the 93 hamlets, villages, and residential groups in Tan Uyen District that has yet to be connected to the national power grid. According to the roadmap, Tan Uyen District aims to meet the new rural district criteria by 2025. In response to the residents' long-standing desire for electricity and to support the district’s rural development efforts, Lai Chau PC has proactively undertaken the implementation of the electrification project.

The planned power line includes 34 positions for 35kV power poles, 1 position for substation, and 56 positions for 0.4kV power poles. The affected land area is over 4.3 hectares, primarily consisting of cultivated land, annual and perennial crops, and unused hills. The compensation and site clearance process has been actively and effectively implemented by the Tan Uyen District People's Committee.

The residents of Khau Hom village will soon have access to the national power grid, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Lai Chau PC in fulfilling its political mission. This project reaffirms the commitment of the Party, the State, and the power sector to bringing electricity to villages that have not yet been connected, aiming to improve the material and spiritual of the people, and contribute positively to the overall development of the province.
