On the evening of September 21, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB), in coordination with relevant units, successfully energized the Vung Ang 220kV substation under the project “Vung Ang 220kV Substation and Connection Lines.” The substation is now ready to evacuate electricity from the Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant into the national power system.

This project has been registered by the Party Committee of EVNNPT as a key milestone to celebrate the 1st Congress of the Government’s Party Committee, term 2025–2030.

The project has also been listed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as one of EVN’s urgent and critical projects, scheduled for energization in 2025, with an emulation movement launched to complete it ahead of schedule.

The Vung Ang 220kV substation is located in Trai hamlet, Vung Ang commune, Ha Tinh province. The connecting transmission line runs through Vung Ang and Song Tri communes. The substation is designed with three voltage levels: 220kV, 110kV, and 22kV. Its planned capacity by 2030 is two transformers of 250MVA each (2x250MVA). In this phase, one transformer of 125MVA has been installed. The connection lines have a total length of 2x13.4km.
