Concentrating resources, ensuring project quality progress

The project of Lao Cai 500kV substation and connected 220kV lines was invested and built by EVN to release the capacity of small hydropower sources in the Northwest region and neighboring provinces (Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Yen Bai), support power import when necessary, and reduce the load on the existing Son La - Hiep Hoa, Son La - Nho Quan 500kV transmission lines. The project is scaled with a total investment of more than VND 1,564 billion. In which, 80% of loans come from domestic commercial banks and 20% of counterpart funds from EVN.

In phase 1 of the project, a 220kV distribution yard and 220kV connection lines will be built, expected to be energized in the fourth quarter of 2022. Phase 2 is scheduled to build a 500kV distribution yard and complete the entire project. It is expected to energize in the fourth quarter of 2024 (synchronizing with the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project).

At the construction ceremony, Chairman Duong Quang Thanh thanked for the interest, support and assistance of Lao Cai province and local people for EVN to implement the project, thereby greatly contributing to EVN successfully carrying out the tasks assigned by the Party and the State. The Chairman of EVN's Member Board hoped that local authorities and people in the province would continue to pay attention to and create conditions for the project to be put into operation on schedule.
