On August 12, within the framework of the Vietnam-Korea Economic Forum held in Seoul, South Korea, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and Hyosung Heavy Industries (Korea) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant milestone in expanding technical cooperation between the two sides.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of General Secretary To Lam and South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min Seok, along with other senior leaders of both countries. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nam - EVN Vice President, and senior representatives of Hyosung signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the MoU, EVN and Hyosung will jointly study and implement various technical cooperation initiatives aimed at enhancing the safe and stable operation of Vietnam’s national power system.

This cooperation marks a concrete step in EVN’s roadmap for smart grid development and digital transformation. It also leverages the expertise and technological capacity of Hyosung - a global industrial leader in the power sector, which has operated in Vietnam since 2007 and officially entered the electricity industry in 2018 through its investment in the Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation (EEMC).
