EVN signs memorandum of understanding with Swedish International Industry Council

On the afternoon of December 11 in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the Swedish International Industry Council (NIR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signifying a robust partnership and contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's energy sector.

Representing NIR were Mr. Johan Ndisi, Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam; Ms. Erika Staffas, Head of Commerce and Politics at the Swedish Embassy in Hanoi; Ms. Alessandra Cornale, Global Director of the Swedish Workplace Program (SWP); and Ms. Nguyễn Thu Hiền, Regional Coordinator of SWP.

On the EVN side, Vice President Vo Quang Lam, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Do Duc Hung, and representatives from EVN's specialized departments attended.

In his remarks at the ceremony, EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam emphasized that this collaboration marks a pivotal milestone, grounded in mutual respect and a shared commitment to fostering sustainability in the energy sector. He extended gratitude to EVN personnel, representatives from the Swedish Embassy in Vietnam, and NIR for their contributions and dedication in shaping this cooperative roadmap.

The new MoU centers on critical areas such as human resource development, technical training, and innovation in energy solutions. Both parties pledged to work jointly on the formulation and implementation of the Gender Equality Strategy for 2026–2030, aiming to create a diverse and inclusive workplace at EVN. Additionally, they intend to develop sustainable energy initiatives, enabling EVN to provide reliable energy services aligned with global environmental objectives.

This collaboration not only symbolizes the close partnership between EVN and NIR but also reflects a mutual commitment to addressing global challenges in energy transition and sustainability. The MoU serves as a foundation for enhancing Vietnam-Sweden relations in energy on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, reinforcing their enduring partnership.
