Since the end of April 2024, the Board of Directors of Vinh Tan 4 TPP has signed a long-term agreement with the VDKGS Joint Venture to purchase imported coal, ensuring a stable coal supply throughout 2025. According to the updated report as of the end of May 2025, the plant had received 1.88 million tons of coal and maintained an inventory of nearly 500,000 tons - a level considered both safe and proactive. The imported coal used at Vinh Tan 4 TPP has a low ash content, helping to increase furnace efficiency and reduce emissions into the environment. This is a highly important factor, especially as thermal power plants are increasingly taking proactive measures to enhance emissions monitoring and comply with more stringent environmental standards.

The entire process of coal and ash handling - including unloading, transportation, storage, and treatment - at Vinh Tan 4 TPP is fully automated and strictly complies with environmental regulations. Specialized equipment and modern treatment systems help to minimize coal dust, wastewater, and the dispersion of pollutants, thereby ensuring that the environment around the plant area is effectively controlled.
In May 2025, the total electricity output of both Vinh Tan 4 and Vinh Tan 4 Expansion TPPs reached 1,028.4 million kWh. The cumulative electricity output in the first 5 months of the year reached 3,804 million kWh.
According to the plan assigned by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the total electricity output in 2025 of Vinh Tan 4 and Vinh Tan 4 Expansion TPPs is 11,432 billion kWh. To achieve this target, the plant is implementing a comprehensive set of technical, organizational, and operational measures, including strengthening equipment inspection and maintenance, monitoring generator parameters in real-time, and implementing various technical innovations and digital transformation initiatives to optimize operational efficiency.
