EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh holds talks with CGGC International

On the afternoon of 1 July in Hanoi, Nguyen Tai Anh, Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), held talks with a delegation from China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. (CGGC International) to discuss potential cooperation in the development of power generation projects, power grid infrastructure, and technology solutions supporting Vietnam's energy transition.

The CGGC International delegation was led by Mr. Hu Peng, Vice President of China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd., and included representatives from several subsidiaries of China Energy Engineering Corporation (Energy China/CEEC).
CGGC International is the international business arm of China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (Energy China/CEEC). The company specializes in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, as well as investment and development of power, energy, and infrastructure projects in international markets.
During the meeting, CGGC International presented an overview of its capabilities and experience, together with those of Energy China subsidiaries, in delivering power, renewable energy, and energy infrastructure projects across numerous countries. The company also expressed its interest in expanding its presence and participating in power development projects in Vietnam.
In response, EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh shared Vietnam's power sector development priorities for the coming years, noting that substantial investment in both power generation and transmission infrastructure will continue to be required to meet growing electricity demand, safeguard national energy security, and support the Government's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
The EVN Vice President also outlined the Group's strategic investment priorities, focusing on pioneering projects such as pumped-storage hydropower, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission, offshore wind power, nuclear power, and other key projects of strategic importance to Vietnam's national energy security.
