With the successful energization of the 220kV transmission line connection on October 25, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) has completed the entire Vung Ang 220kV Substation and connection project (Ha Tinh province).

The Vung Ang 220kV substation is built in Trai hamlet, Vung Ang ward, Ha Tinh province. The substation is planned to have two 250MVA transformers by 2030, with one 125MVA transformer installed in this initial phase. The substation is designed with three voltage levels: 220kV, 110kV, and 22kV. The connecting transmission line is 13.4km long, passing through Vung Ang and Song Tri wards in Ha Tinh province.

The completed  Vung Ang 220kV substation and power connecting project is of great importance in ensuring power supply for many important loads in Ha Tinh province, especially the Vung Ang Economic Zone with many important industrial zones and manufacturing plants; releasing capacity for the Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant, while contributing to reducing power losses, ensuring safe operation of the power system, improving the reliability and quality of power supply, serving socio-economic and political development in Ha Tinh province.

This is also a project selected by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam Electricity (EVN) in the list of key urgent projects of EVN, to launch an emulation campaign to complete and energize the project in 2025.

The project is invested by EVNNPT. The Central Power Projects Management Board manages and operates the project on behalf of the investor; Power Transmission Company No.1 will take over the operation after completion.
